Overview

We are looking for a Director of Game Day Operations to join our family! In this role, you will be a part of the day-to-day operations of the Silvertips Game Presentation. You will have the opportunity to work directly with the Silvertips franchise in the creation, planning, and execution of all game presentation elements. Additionally, you will provide support to the department in tasks such as, preparation assignments related to all home games, coordination of game night contestants, promotions, and follow up. You will also collaborate in planning various events such as auditions, community projects, and special events as needed. Does this sound like fit for you? If so, we want to hear from you! The Silvertips will play a 34-game home schedule during the 2021-22 season, starting in September 2021 and lasting until mid-April 2022. Playoffs can extend the season until the middle of June.

Responsibilities

  • Dedicated to providing the best fan experience in the WHL.
  • Hiring and managing of all game day staff.
  • Oversee game day staff to ensure all areas are executed.
  • Serve as liaison between organization and the venue from an operations standpoint.
  • Create gameday script and other necessary materials for all vendors and staff members.
  • Assists with in-game production and promotional activities, including selecting guests for intermission activities and promotions: selecting contestants, Zamboni riders, monitoring interactive concourse tables, coordinating group outings etc.
  • Assisting the sales staff within arena fan experiences
  • Implementation of in-game promotions, coordination of booking and event logistics for National Anthem performers, Color Guards, game entertainment, and game-to-game contestants.
  • Execute office duties such as answering phones, archiving, and tracking game content, organizing, and maintaining storage areas, market research, etc.
  • Understands the functions and operates the equipment of the control booth during game day events such as switcher, instant replay and video equipment, music application as well as all future additions to the control room.
  • Oversees the team’s control room including the management and inventory of all game operations equipment. 
  • Must be able to manage a crew of 10+ part time employees including but not limited to scheduling and oversight on game day.
  • Guarantees all in-house content, brand content and partner logos are “Ready for Air”.
  • Ability to turn static logos and photos into motion graphics for a more engaging activation.
  • Plan, create, and execute sponsor videos, in-season hype videos, mascot skits and videos to accomplish marketing goals or themed promotional videos.
  • Keeps track of relevant player-stats for game day use. 
  • Develops and prepares all content, video and/or graphic, towards game entertainment and outside events.
  • Assists with all events such as: season ticket holder events, pre-season team events, fan events, video shoots and any other outside/third party events.
  • Confirm that all corporate game night elements are successfully completed as per corporate partnership agreements.
  • Assist the Building Operations Department with operational and logistical needs to manage a junior hockey affiliated event effectively and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with department staff on planning, setup, and breakdown of events, such as pre-game and post-game activations, auditions, and other special events.
  • Observe and learn from other departments through interviewing, shadowing extra events, etc.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point and other computer skills required. 
  • Proven track record of outstanding leadership and time management skills.
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.
  • Demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Superior communication, responsiveness, and technological skills 
  • Strong teamwork aptitude required.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Strong good oral and written communication skills 
  • The ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Stand/Sit/Walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Knowledge of control room broadcast, Motion Rocket and Live Text preferred.
