About the Position

This job contributes to achieving NYRR’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Social Responsibility (DEIS) mission—Advancing our commitment to a more diverse, equitable, inclusive, and socially responsible NYRR—for our team, for our community, and for the sport we love, running. In this role, you will provide accurate, timely, and proactive administrative and program support services to the Culture and DEIS team with a close working relationship to the HR department. The responsibilities include coordinating education and awareness events, supporting employee engagement and internal communications strategies and goals, working closely with employee resource groups to increase their effectiveness and active engagement.

Job Responsibilities:

Program Support (50%)

  • Assist in the execution of strategic DEIS, internal communications, and employee engagement plans designed to support key business objectives and long-term goals
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of trainings, lunch & learns and other programs/events
  • Prepare and send written communication to program participants, presenters, and participating leaders
  • Serve as liaison with program participants
  • Support administrative needs for the ERG program
  • Execute special projects as assigned by management


Communication (25%)

  • Participate and contribute updates during Internal Communications team meetings, and work cross-functionally with Communications, Marketing, HR, and PR
  • Conduct independent research on employee engagement and communications best practices and new tools and technology as needed
  • Compose, proofread, and distribute employee messages, meeting agendas/minutes, reports and other documents as required •
  • May be asked to proofread documents for accuracy
  • Assist with special projects and administrative needs as determined and assigned
  • Assist with content creation for our employer branding strategy and execution along with HR and Marketing
  • Utilize current platforms for participant scheduling, tracking, and communication for designated events/programs
  • Support social responsibility efforts and communications, including sustainability
  • Serve on the Relay Communications Team and support communications acting as a liaison

Administrative (25%)

  • Provide administrative, project, and office technology support using various communication platforms
  • Manage calendaring functions for the DEIS team
  • Support employee engagement annual and pulse surveys, generating reports and working with the vendor
  • Financial systems administration (e.g., Concur). Reconciles, tracks, and submits financial expenses
  • Use analytical skills to help collect data and metrics to map out trends to inform our work
  • Make room reservations, request room set-up, order catering, connect with our social media and OSO teams for events as needed
  • Assist with the execution of internal Culture and DEIS events such as trainings, Town Halls, and other programming as needed

Job Requirements:

Skills and Attributes:

  • Understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social responsibility
  • Experience in internal communications and employee engagement
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communications skills
  • Innovative ability to create content
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to effectively manage multiple projects and work with tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • High initiative and self-driven
  • A quick learner with a can-do attitude
  • Prior experience with project and program management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Business Applications: Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years working in an administrative capacity
