Athletics: Assistant Director of Digital Strategy

Job Summary

 Athletics Department is seeking a qualified Assistant Director of Digital Strategy. This position reports directly to the Director of Digital Strategy. This position will assist the Director of Digital Strategy in the implementation and activation of the brand advancement campaign for 16 nationally recognized sports programs and organizational content through the generation of progressive graphic designs, illustrations, motion graphics, animations, and creative video.

  • Collaborate with the communications, broadcast services, and sport programs staff in the development, maintenance, and advancement of the athletic department's brand identity through original and creative design concepts.
  • Produce original and creative designs and motion graphics covering a variety of print and web-based materials, including digital and social media, posters, game programs, signage and large-scale facility graphics, advertising, tickets, website and email graphics, social media graphics, logos and varied promotional materials as needed.
  • Partner with other athletic department creative, video, and marketing staff to ensure that social media platforms are in-line with the department's overall strategic communications, branding, and marketing objectives.
  • Promote the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all university/department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, conference, and the NCAA.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, public relations, interpersonal, customer service, and supervisory skills when working with student-athletes, faculty, staff, coaches, and administration.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others; commitment to working with multi-cultural populations.
  • Have strong work ethic and be a person of high integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and Institutional rules as they apply
  • Ability to work extended daily hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) from a regionally accredited institution.
  • One (1) year experience working in athletics at a college/university or comparable preferred.
