Job Summary
The successful candidate will serve as the primary contact for at least 1-2 sports each season throughout the year. The graduate assistant is responsible for the creation of press releases, preparation of game day programs, statistical input, social media content, game-day operations for all sports assigned. Reporting to the Director of Sports Information and the Director of Athletics, the Graduate Assistant’s duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Sports Information office.
- Conduct all aspects of pre-game, in-game, and post-game coverage for assigned home contests
- Perform assorted game-day duties, such as public address announcing, play-by-play broadcasting, stats (NCAA Live Stats, StatCrew or Presto Stats) social media coverage and scoreboard operation
- Ensure accurate statistics for all home games; organize, direct, and supervise event staff for the functions of taking statistics; and exchange sports information with other institutions with whom we compete.
- Help coordinate all game management, including hiring, training, and assigning student workers, interns, and volunteers.
- Other duties as assigned
