Job Summary

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Legal Department handles corporate and legal matters primarily related to PUMA North America, Inc., PUMA Canada, Inc., and Cobra Golf Incorporated. We are seeking to hire a practicing experienced transactional attorney to assist the current legal team members with drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements, including marketing agreements, vendor agreements, services agreements, ecommerce agreements, consulting and event agreements, and nondisclosure agreements, in addition to assisting with other legal work and legal research within our businesses. We are looking for an individual with a consistent track record drafting and finalizing agreements in a high-volume, fast-paced corporate legal environment, preferably (but not necessarily) in connection with a consumer product or marketing related business. This individual should possess excellent analytical and organizational skills and demonstrate strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with internal clients.  The ideal candidate should have the ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team setting, will complete tasks in a timely, efficient and effective manner and can handle a high volume of transactional responsibilities simultaneously. They will demonstrate close attention to detail, a high level of commitment to quality work product and a high level of professionalism and discretion in dealing with confidential information. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Collaborate with the legal team and members of the marketing department in the drafting and negotiation of event, production, consulting, service, ecommerce, endorsement, and other marketing related agreements. • Review and negotiation of vendor, commission, and non-disclosure agreements. • Provide legal expertise in connection with sweepstakes and other digital and offline promotional and marketing campaigns. • Advise on intellectual property, claims made marketing, other product related issues. • Perform legal research projects as needed • Support other general legal issues related to the business as needed.  QUALIFICATIONS: • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school; admitted to practice before a state bar association (MA preferred). • 1-3 years of experience at a law firm or in-house. Consumer product or marketing related industry experience a plus. • Experience with commercial contract negotiation and drafting (e.g., service and production agreements, event agreements, NDAs, terms of service, vendor agreements). • Experience interacting with clients and managing or escalating questions or issues as appropriate. • Excellent legal and business judgment and the ability to demonstrate success balancing the need to limit risk to the organization with the goal of supporting the creativity, enthusiasm and pace of internal clients. • Ability to work independently but collaboratively within a fast-paced, high performance environment, providing legal advice and guidance related to a wide range of commercial contracts, research, and other business matters.  • Sense of urgency, with the ability to identify and articulate issues, offer solutions and follow-through to resolution. • Strong capacity to manage own performance independently and effectively, exhibiting excellent time management and attention to detail.  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; as well as analytical thinking and problem solving skills. • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to translate complex legal issues to direct, practical guidance for non-lawyer audiences, both verbally and in writing • Travel Required
