Hockey Operations Data Scientist

Job Summary

The Data Scientist for the NHL team will generate reports to help our coaches, management, and scouting departments make critical decisions. He or she will build, validate, and automate models for hockey player and team performance using multiple data sources. The role includes working with a team of data scientists, data engineers, and hockey operations personnel.

Required:

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, data science, machine learning, computer science, mathematics, or a related field
2. Demonstrated experience working with large, complex datasets
3. Experience building a variety of statistical models, and an understanding of those models
4. Experience writing shared code and using version control tools in team work environments
5. 1+ years of experience as a data analyst and/or sufficient experience working professionally in sports analytics
