Athletic Turf Specialist

Job Summary

The department is especially interested in candidates with the following proficiency: the ability to perform work independently with little or no additional training and proficiency working with power equipment such as chain saws, stump grinders, tractors, and sweeper trucks.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

1. Ability to read, write, and follow verbal instructions.
2. Knowledge of the practices, tools, materials, and machines used in grounds and turf maintenance operations.
3. Knowledge of infield clay(s)/skinned areas and applicable maintenance practices.
4. Physical ability to perform work involving standing, stooping, operating equipment, and lifting of materials and equipment.
5. Knowledge of appropriate safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
