Job Summary
The University of Portland, an NCAA Division I institution and West Coast Conference member located in Portland, Oregon, is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Services. The selected candidate for this full-time, 12-month position will serve as a member of the Compliance Team in the Department of Athletics, a two-person unit that provides athletic compliance and eligibitity support to 270 Pilot student-athletes. The Assistant Director for Compliance and Student Services will assist and work with the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Services with all phases of administering a comprehensive compliance and rules education program to ensure compliance with NCAA and West Coast Conference rules and bylaws. In 2018-19 Portland finished fourth nationally among Division I-AAA schools in the Learfield-IMG Directors Cup standings on the playing field, while in the classroom 36% of student-athletes earned Dean’s List honors and 77% of student-athletes earned a 3.0 or better cum gpa. Primary job responsibilities: •Support the administration of a comprehensive NCAA compliance program. Duties include, but are not limited to, helping to develop, update, and execute policies, processes, forms and systems related to NCAA requirements and University policies and processes. •Oversight of all recruiting logs for NCAA compliance, consistent with all applicable policies, procedures, and systems. •Manage playing and practice season declarations, consistent with all applicable policies, procedures, and systems. •Provide interpretation of applicable regulations, rules, and requirements to coaches, staff, and student-athletes. Work with relevant areas (including, but not limited to, NCAA and WCC and other University departments) to research regulations, rules, and requirements, as well as exceptions as applicable. •Support implementation of education sessions for all athletic department personnel, student-athletes, and other relevant areas and constituents. •Monitor official and unofficial campus recruiting visits to ensure compliance with NCAA legislation, consistent with all applicable policies, procedures, and systems. •Track eligibility of student-athletes, consistent with all applicable policies, procedures, and systems. •Serve as the primary contact for roster management within the Athletic Department; coordinate rosters, consistent with all applicable policies, procedures, and systems; provide rosters to internal offices, including for NCAA squad lists and eligibility reports. •Serve as liaison to the Office of Residence Life and Bon Appetit dining services to coordinate student-athlete housing and meals. •Serve as primary contact for summer financial aid organization and distribution. •Other duties as relevant to the duties of the position or as assigned by supervisor or designeeThe full job description is available at: http://up.hiretouch.com/job-details?jobid=58460
