The Department of Athletics has an immediate full-time opportunity for the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach . The incumbent will be primarily responsible for carrying out assignments in the coaching and management of the Women's Lacrosse team as well as have supplemental duties as the Intramurals Coordinator.

Primary Coaching Duties:

• Direct and implement all aspects of the women's lacrosse program; provide learning opportunities that challenge and support student-athletes to reach their full potential;
• Support student-athlete academic and athletic excellence, leadership development and community engagement;
• Direct team development, training and strategy in practice and competition, recruit prospective students who will thrive at the University of Bridgeport; make a competitive schedule,
• Adheres to and enforces all policies and procedures of the department and the University, as well as the rules and regulations of the NCAA, East Coast Conference, ECAC, and any other authorities that affect the intercollegiate athletic program;
• Manage team budget
• Motivate student-athletes to perform to maximum levels;
• Assists with the conditioning and training of team members in conjunction with the training; unit to ensure that student-athletes are physically prepared for competition;
• Utilizes sound teaching techniques in the preparation of games and practices.
• Supervise an assistant coach &/or graduate assistant; perform other duties as assigned by the VP Enrollment Management & Athletics

Supplemental duties to serve as Intramurals Coordinator include:

• Coordinates the daily operations of the Intramurals Program
• Coordinates marketing and outreach efforts
• Coordinates and assists with Intramural Officials trainings in sports as assigned
• Coordinates annual events designed specifically for first year UB Students
• Schedules Officials, Scorekeepers, and Supervisors for league events and extramural tournaments
• Recruit, schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate staff members on policies and procedures.
• Coordinates and adheres to departmental risk management efforts for all programs and facilities in areas of responsibility.
• Assists in purchasing and tracking inventory of university property.
• Assists with the annual review of policies and procedures.
• Supervises graduate assistant and part-time students.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Drives team van as needed;
• Maintain equipment;
• Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred;
• Skills and experience coaching women's lacrosse and /or participation at collegiate level preferred; demonstrated ability and passion to teach and demonstrate skills of lacrosse;
• Strong commitment to NCAA DII philosophy;
• Motivation and skills in recruiting prospective student-athletes;
• Ability to positively interact with all levels of the University community.
• CPR/AED certification;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Experience in web-site management and desktop publishing,
• Photoshop and stat crew experience preferred
• Willingness to fundraise;
• Ability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends;
• Must possess a valid driver's license and driving record, which complies with University of Bridgeport driving policy for local and regional travel.
