Job Summary


Position Summary
The Sporting Stripes Coordinator will be the lead associate for the premier 2-5y early childhood soccer program in the KC Metro and Midwest region: Sporting Stripes. This individual will be tasked with planning, coordination, and execution of all Sporting Stripes events, sessions, and classes. This full-time position within the Sporting Kansas City Youth Soccer department will report directly to the Manager of Youth Programs.

Essential Functions

  • Administrative and coaching support at all youth programs; primarily focused on Sporting Stripes.

  • Lead and supervise a range of part-time associates, contractors, and coaches working at all events, camps, clinics, and classes; primarily at Sporting Stripes events. Effectively communicating responsibilities and delegating tasks to staff as needed. Ability to hire and terminate associates/contractors/coaches to maintain quality staff.

  • Manage annual calendar of critical dates as it relates to marketing, youth programs, and participant communications.

  • Maintain Sporting Stripes budget, including profit/loss tracking, in order meet department objectives.

  • Assist in planning and developing a curriculum for all programs that is in-line with Sporting Stripes player development philosophy and “Playing the Sporting Way”.

  • Lead expansion efforts for Sporting Stripes program into new markets, facilities and partnerships.

  • Collaborate on designing, ordering and managing inventory of Sporting Stripes and Sporting Stars uniforms.

  • Uphold standards set in Sporting Kansas City Youth Soccer Coach handbook and provide  exceptional customer service to program participants and families.

  • Perform other related tasks as assigned: including, but not limited to, assistance in execution of Sporting Kansas City soccer camps, clinics, Academy Affiliate fulfillment and events as needed.

 
Game Day Responsibilities

  • Assist with Youth Soccer activations.

  • Attend all Sporting Kansas City home matches and perform duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience

  • ​Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, business, sports management, marketing or other related field required.

  • 1-2 year(s) experience coaching in early childhood soccer programs preferred.

  • Strong soccer knowledge and demonstrated skills, coaching licenses and/or playing experience preferred.

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.
