Ashlyn Jess

As the Sports Editor for the Wood Word (Marywood's online news source), my job was to write stories about the sports teams, athletes and sports administration at Marywood while also writing stories about professional and local sports teams. I also oversaw the sports portion of the paper and edited other sports work.

I worked behind the scenes during Marywood University's basketball games deciding which camera angle was being displayed during the live broadcast. I also made sure the audio was strong as our commentators were speaking during the game.

As a sports coach at the Madison YMCA, it's my responsibility to coach kids of all ages and backgrounds in a variety of sports. I've coached many different sports but my specialities are soccer and basketball.
