Urban Meyer has a college record of 187–32 and a bowl record of 12–3 and 3-0 in National Championship games. However, many successful college coaches have attempted to make the jump to the NFL without being able to succeed – most notably Steve Spurrier and Nick Saban.
One thing that’s clear is that Meyer is a great hire for an organization that has struggled for quite some time, with a record of 44-116 over the past decade. Urban Meyer hopes to help the Jaguars return to their form in the 90s when they were a perennial powerhouse with superstar players such as Tony Boselli, Fred Taylor, and Jimmy Smith.
