Job Summary
1) Operational Planning & Executing
Designing an Operational Plan
Under the direction of the League Office, you are responsible for developing the overall plan for the operations of the company. This will include, but may not be limited to the subjects listed below:
Budgeting
Working with the team’s League Office, you will assist in designing the company’s overall budget for both projected expenses and revenues and lead in building a plan to manager both.
Staffing
From the creation of a staffing flow chart, to designing job descriptions and hiring staff, along with managing these people in a manner as to maximize their potential, you will be responsible for the overall staffing plans of the team within the guidelines of the League Office.
Ticket Operations
You and your staff will develop ticket sales and operations plans to include pricing, specials, accurately logging and distributing season and group tickets, season ticket holder parties and all other ticket related matters.
Marketing & Communications
As part of the team’s overall plan, you will create and execute a plan to properly gain positive exposure for the team through media, public, and community relations along with a comprehensive advertising plan.
Fan Experience
You will design and execute a first plan for promotional elements, game operations, and exceptional fan services in conjunction with the team’s owner.
2) Sales Planning
Designing an Overall Plan
You are responsible for developing the overall plan for all sales. This includes the setting of team and individual goals, as well as plans to reach those sales objectives and any plans to market these items. This applies to corporate partnerships, season tickets, group tickets, flex tickets, and any other tickets as decided upon by the team and its management.
Creating & Managing Sales lists
You are responsible for maintenance of the team’s CRM and for creating and maintaining a proper sales list of prospects for the staff to call on for ticket and corporate partnership sales. This list can be developed through a grass roots effort, purchased from a list company, etc. It is important that the sales staff have prospects to call upon.
Hiring of Sales Interns or Staff
The hiring of assistants for the sales department such as interns of when possible, paid staff, will be your responsibility.
3) Selling
Leading by Example
It is expected of you to be the top producing salesperson on the staff. Since over eighty percent of our success or failure comes from our efforts to sell tickets and partnerships, you are expected to meet or exceed all of your goals.
Balance our Sales Focus
Every one of our sales goals is to some degree dependent on the others. Some items may be easier to sell than others but the team is counting on you to make certain that we are balanced in our efforts to sell everything that we offer (season tickets, group tickets, partnerships, etc.).
4) Reporting to the League Office
Accurate Weekly Sales Reports are to be collected from the staff each Monday and presented to the group each week at the Monday morning sales meeting. These reports should include a weekly recap report on the staff effort as a whole for the week along with copies of the individual call sheets from the team’s current CRM. You are encouraged to make this system your own, even make significant changes if they are an improvement to the company’s efforts and approved by the League Office.
General Reporting
You will communicate with the League Office on all matters of concern, both positive and negative. It is important that all the team’s efforts are understood and overseen by the League Office.
5) Compensation
The position pays an annual salary of $45,000, paid twice each month on the 1st and 15th.
Sales Commissions
A commission of 15% will be paid, upon receipt of any payment towards your sales made for season tickets, group tickets, or corporate partnerships. These payments will be made to you along with your bi-monthly salary. No commission will be paid for the sale of individual tickets, merchandise, or elements in which the team is not receiving cash from such as occasional trade deals.
Reimbursables
The League Office will reimburse you for expenses that are related to the team’s operations and that are pre-approved by the League Office in advance.
