Academic Mentor (Wage)

Job Summary

Academic Mentors/Tutors at UVA Athletics Academic Affairs support student-athletes in achieving academic success by providing regular in-person sessions. Assist with course-specific knowledge, develop academic tasks, and enhance study skills like organization and time management. Training is provided on mentoring strategies and curriculum support. Focus is on building strong relationships and teaching applicable skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

One-year experience with teaching, advising, tutoring or mentoring. Volunteer experience and experience as a student will be considered.

Successful applicants must have strong communication skills, be highly-organized, able to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and able to work independently.
