Job Summary

Role Summary

The Executive Producer/VP Content of the Ventures Interactive group is the vision holder, team manager, business lead, and games industry liaison for the Concept Group and all Mass Interactive projects it undertakes.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary


  • Establish the creative, technical, and audiovisual design direction for all Mass Interactive projects in collaboration with Concept Group department directors and relevant Ventures executives, assuring that these projects both accomplish our creative and operational goals and take advantage of unique opportunities offered by the platform(s).

  • Inaugurate repeatable best practices for the design and development of Mass Interactive content, from bookend-scheduled interactive shorts to feature-length standalone events.

  • Determine the Concept Groups staffing, outsourcing, and partnership requirements; source candidates, vendors, and partners, and negotiate contracts in all appropriate circumstances.

  • Manage all Concept Group staff and ongoing third-party vendor/partner relationships.

  • Attend and oversee the proper implementation of daily scrums and bi-weekly sprint planning sessions, reviews, and retrospectives in accordance with Agile best practices.

  • Draft, in collaboration with Director of Interactive Experiences and relevant Ventures executives, the budgets for all projects undertaken by Ventures’ Interactive Concept Group and control the associated departmental P&L.

  • Communicate to other Ventures executives, as well as relevant third parties, the game and audiovisual design as well as the technical direction of all Concept Group projects verbally, in writing, and through demonstrations of concepts in-progress.

  • Utilize the Ventures organization’s existing strengths in marketing, productions, operations, finance, etc. to impart as much incumbent advantage as possible to our launch of this entirely new Interactive entertainment category.

Qualifications


  • Undergraduate degree preferred or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of professional games industry leadership experience required, with 5+ as the leader of a gaming startup or new games development studio

  • Demonstrable expertise in guiding the collaboration between Game Design, Engineering, Project Management, and Art departments in a creative, energetic, and positive fashion

  • Mastery of verbal and written communications and recognized team management techniques

  • Experience as leading an Agile team preferred, familiarity with Agile methodology required

  • Expertise in integrating user research and data-enabled analysis into the game development process required

  • Experience with AR/VR/MR game development a plus

  • Expertise with common games industry design and production software (MS Office, Visio/comparable charting software, JIRA, Trello) required. Experience with the Unity game engine highly preferred.

  • Secondary skills in another key game development discipline (Engineering, Product Management, Art, Audio) required

  • Applications must include an annotated list of game credits explaining the applicant’s role on each title

 

Education

  • Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
  • Educational requirements may differ from job to job based on the role.
