As the Globetrotters build on its wonderful 90+ year storied history, we are seeking outstanding individuals to help elevate the brand to emotionally connect with the next generation of fans. As a Marketing & Sales Coordinator for the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters, you will help us connect with new audiences and develop fans on and off the court and support the marketing strategy and brand roadmap for the organization.
Your passion for the Harlem Globetrotters and the mission is matched only by your go-getting determination to continue to craft your skills as a brand marketing. Part planner, part implementer and a strong understanding of marketing communications functions, you will be the coordinator for one of the world’s greatest brands, and help move it forward in a meaningful way by:
? Managing projects with detail, pace and on-brand and on-brief
? Forging strong relationships with internal teams and players, external partners and agencies to create collaborative and winning work flows
? Focusing of the details and results to help us go to market effectively, test and learn
This full-time position within the Harlem Globetrotters International (HGI) Marketing Division is located at our Corporate Office in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and reports to the Marketing & Sales leaders.
Position Roles & Responsibilities
· A desire to be a true marketer -at heart - develop and implement tailored go-to-market plans promoting Harlem Globetrotters events in 50+ markets throughout North America
· Collaborate with all integrated marketing & sales departments, including: branded entertainment, social media and content, live events, licensing, public relations and sponsorship, to execute strategic plans and achieve organizational goals
· Research target audiences in local touring markets; identify opportunities to enhance brand affinity and drive purchase/engagement
· Coordinate the production and deployment of marketing assets for use in go-to-market campaigns
· Identify potential promotional partners and sponsors in collaboration with appropriate teams
· Develop and assist in the implementation of successful community programs and promotions
· Find and present opportunities with local partners and relevant influencers
· Negotiate effective barter media deals to maximize exposure and minimize expense
· Support the efforts of the media buying, brand, and PR agencies
· Compile reports using our internal marketing insights system, Spotfire, to help inform organizational decision making
· Work with the sales team to identify sales trends and track performance and KPIs
· Special projects as assigned
Position Requirements
· Experience in entertainment, brand marketing, sports, and/or live events
· A genuine passion for marketing and the Harlem Globetrotters
· Self-starting personality and highly motivated, strategic, and creative
· Quick witted and adaptable to a fast-paced environment/industry
· Excellent communication, cross-group collaboration, and planning skills
· Experience being accountable to leadership
· Great collaborator who thrives working with others
· Cool with handling differences of opinion, with your own strong opinions lightly held
· Outcome and output oriented - dare we say 'relentless'?
· You thrive in diverse teams and in your approach to all that you do
· Consistently demonstrates grit and determination with innate ability to get stuff done
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; particularly Excel, Google Docs, and strong verbal and written communication skills
· Must be flexible and willing to work off hours, weekends and nights as needs dictate
· Open to travel and relocation (as part of potential career advancement)
