Job Summary
Job Description
- Oversee operations for Men's Basketball.
- Report directly to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, and secondarily to the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. T
- Comply with all Athletic Department, NCAA regulations and College Athletics Policies and Procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Responsible for his/her own team.
- Philosophy and principles of the program must be aligned with that of the Strength & Conditioning department, the expectations of the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, and College.
- Work closely with the sports medicine staff in providing injury rehabilitation, as well as with the sport coaching staffs to work towards goals of the program and each student-athlete.
- Must be available for travel, practices, games, strength, conditioning and recovery sessions, warm-ups, meals, and on-campus recruiting visits.
- Requires working early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Duties
- Strength and conditioning program design and implementation.\
- Body composition analysis, nutrition education and intervention
develop and maintain relative records and reports. - Reconciliation of supplements budget within the Men’s Basketball annual operating budget.
- Organization of team meals, organization of team travel.
- Weight room management and equipment maintenance.
- Supervision of strength and conditioning staff.
- Staff education participation when not on the road with Men’s Basketball
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in exercise science.
- Nationally recognized certification (SCCC) by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association and/or (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
- Certified in AED/CPR and First Aid.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with all members of the College community.
- Strong desire to be a basketball specific strength and conditioning coach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- Previous coaching experience in the collegiate strength and conditioning setting.
- Previous program design and oversight of Men’s Basketball at the Division I level.
- Previous basketball playing or coaching experience at the high school or college level.
