Athletic Instructor Associate, NCAA

Job Summary

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

•   Provide clinical instruction, supervision and periodic evaluation of the student athletic training students.
•   Administer proper treatment and procedures for emergency situations.
•   Evaluate athletic injuries of the student athletes and make proper referrals to their health care providers when appropriate.
•   Administer proper treatment and/or therapy for acute and chronic injuries.
•   Provide rehabilitation and reconditioning for injured or post-operative student athletes.
•   Provide game and practice coverage along with other certified athletic trainers.
•   Maintain regular hours and supervision of Treatment Center operations.
•   Maintain efficient medical records and injury reports.
•   Submit supply bids, order supplies and maintain sufficient inventory as required.
•   Oversee assessment and documentation of skill progression of athletic training students.
•   Administrative duties related to the clinical coordination activities.
•   Maintain athletic training student education portfolios.
•   Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in athletic training or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating:
•   Knowledge of athletic training principles, practices, injury treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning techniques.
•   Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics principles and their application.
•   Ability to supervise, teach, assign and assess.
•   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with coworkers, supervisors, and students.

Requirements:

•   NATABOC certification and state registration.
Preferred:
•   Strength and Conditioning experience and certification
•   Teaching within an athletic training program
