Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this part-time position. The Baseball Coach is responsible for planning, operating, and evaluating the Baseball program at the College to ensure fiscal responsibility and compliance with NJCAA rules and regulations.

Pending educational qualifications and instructional needs in high demand programs, qualifying candidates can be assigned instructional duties within academic programs that could extend to full-time employment.

Duties

Motivate student athletes to succeed in athletic competitions, academic programs, and become productive citizens.

Recruit, advise, and sign student-athletes for team participation.

Advise student-athletes and staff of and monitoring compliance with applicable intercollegiate athletic rules, regulations, and College policies to ensure compliance.

Inform student-athletes of academic requirements and other matters pertaining to their enrollment and educational progress to meet and maintain eligibility.

In coordination with the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, monitor student-athlete academic performance and implement team, athletic department, and College measures to support their academic performance.

Plan and instruct student-athletes in athletic skill development.

Ensure appropriate safety measures are observed and practiced by athletes in team activities.

Work with Regional Athletic Directors and coaches on the selection and scheduling of team contests.

Coordinate all activities in preparation for scheduled competition.

Interact with senior executives internal and external to the organization.

Operate within budgetary guidelines established by the College.

Attend all team practices as well as all home and away contests.

Assume responsibility for student-athlete compliance with all NJCAA rules and regulations.

Assist in resolving cases where a student-athlete violates applicable regulations.

Collaborate with alumni student groups, College administration, and community groups to seek support for the team.

Assist with additional tasks as assigned to further advance the College and student success.
