Job Summary

Position Overview

  • Support the current membership initiatives while developing and marketing new programs that promote and grow the sport of fencing.
  • Responsible for assisting the Director of Member Services to ensure that the Fencing Organization is a member centered organization offering exceptional customer service and benefits to all constituents including club owners, athletes, coaches, officials and others.

Primary Duties

  • Assist in creating and implementing a comprehensive annual membership campaign to acquire new members and retain and upgrade current members. 
  • Lead the collegiate club development efforts and assist in development of college fencing. 
  • Ensure a positive member experience and high retention rates through the creation and implementation of a successful membership services program.
  • Serve as contact for membership by providing daily communication with members via phone, email and website. 
  • Organize club education program to include seminars, webinars, podcasts and other programs. 
  • Assist with management of membership database. 
  • Maintain all membership related website pages. 
  • Coordinate membership fulfillment for clubs and individuals, including member cards and certificates. 
  • Assist with coordinated communication calendar to individual members and club owners.
  • Assist with statistical records and analysis of membership history and trends. 
  • Maintain and update information on background checks for Coach Members. 

Education & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, non-profit management, marketing or sports management.
  • Experience in marketing and promotions preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of full time work experience in customer service.
  • Experience in a sports or non-profit membership organization a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a number of different projects simultaneously while working independently.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exemplary organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with diverse member and volunteer base while maintaining a positive demeanor.
  • Creative thinker and innovator.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Publisher, and content management systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidential or sensitive information.

Other Information

  • Ability to work from National Office is required.
  • This is a full-time exempt position with benefits and competitive salary.
