Job Summary

• Responsible for all written content, including feature/lifestyle stories, business insight, game previews, recaps and practice reports, posted on the (insert team name) website and app.
• Assist in media guide creation
• Assist with writing, proofreading and editing all marketing, communications and sales materials developed within the organization
• Cover camps, practices and games as well as community events
• Write content in a consistent voice that adheres to brand positioning and core values

• Relevant experience in journalism, writing, or editorial
• Candidates should be proven performers on deadlines, should be able to quickly build credible relationships with sources, earning their trust so access is not a challenge. 
• Ability to know what questions to ask and when, know not to be adversarial but have the credentials to inspire confidence from fans and be competitive against external press. 
• Candidates should have legitimacy and camaraderie with other journalists covering the team. 
• Capable of participating in multimedia (podcasts, radio segments or shows, on camera, and capturing video) as approved or directed at the team and league level. 
• Should be proficient, professional and an ambassador on social media, knowing that followers will have been acquired because of affiliation with the team and league.
• Track record of teamwork, versatility, a can-do attitude, and the ability to generate content independently and collaboratively. 
• Fast, concise accurate writer with great sense of how to speak to fans
• Self-starter with creative ideas
