Job Summary
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a leader of the sales and new business development department to provide strategic vision for the sales operation, ensuring revenue growth aligned with company objectives and values
- Establish and qualify value proposition to sponsors and ensure consistency in messaging across all sponsor interaction
- Identify, pursue and close new business from qualified prospects for hockey team sponsorship.
- Establish and implement sales and new business development strategies, including use of social media and other platforms, to develop leads and close sales with partners, ranging from the local level up to Fortune 500 companies
- Creatively conceptualize and pitch customized and unique activation programs to prospective partners to show value-added elements of sponsorship deals
- Prospect and develop new client relationships (as well as maintain and grow existing relationships with corporate partners). This role will be measured and rewarded based on the hire’s ability to attract new sponsors
- Assess capabilities, strengths and gaps of sales and marketing team, and manage and motivate the team going forward
- Lead and/or provide direction for contract negotiations
- Define value proposition and market to “C-Level” executives
- Serve as part of executive leadership team, providing overall direction for the company and interacting with the Board and ownership.
Qualifications, Skills and Education
- Minimum 6 years successful sales experience with a proven track record of closing complex transactions
- High-energy leader with an affinity for, and love of, “selling”
- An existing network of relationships with business leaders in the DFW Metroplex, and across the country
- A successful history of developing, implementing and leading sales and marketing programs
- Outcome-oriented and motivated by performance-based rewards
- Experience in development and persuasive delivery of presentations to “C-Level” executives
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a relevant field of study. Master’s degree level preferred
- Strategic thinker with attention to detail
- Able to work all home games and schedule of team events throughout the year
