Job Summary

Overview
Oversee daily sales, customer service, fan experience, operations, and promotions for the retail sector of the MLB Team and provide direction to Assistant Store Managers and Sales Associates in accordance with Club’s customer service, sales and applicable operation standards.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist with the hiring, training and supervision of fan facing retail positions including Assistant Store Managers and Sales Associates.

  • Manage daily store operations and retail sales by setting daily store goals, giving direction to Assistant Store Managers and Sales Associates and following up with feedback.

  • Manage, communicate and maintain retail store, kiosk and portable standards, policies and procedures.

  • Manage part time and seasonal retail associates schedules to ensure proper coverage for all game day and non-game day store/portable hours and responsibilities.

  • Manage in the “opening” and “closing” of all retail locations and cash room duties as it pertains to the POS system and store registers.

  • Monitor and manage the retail sales floor and cash wrap areas in all locations to ensure that customers are receiving an exceptional fan experience, the store presentation is clean and organized and safety standards are maintained throughout the retail stores, kiosks and portables.

  • Lead the Retail team in customer service efforts and training of all new associates in customer service expectations.

  • Assists with inventory counts to ensure merchandise levels are accurate.

  • Ensures that all merchandise is correctly labeled and displayed within the stores, kiosks and portables.

  • Watch for and recognize security risks and potential thefts and report them immediately to management and/or security.

  • Assist with store promotions, gift-with-purchases and other marketing/promotional activities.

  • Complete Ad Hoc retail tasks as needed.

Education/Work Experience

  • Retail management experience preferred (minimum of one year).

  • Previous cash handling experience required.

  • Prior experience working with point of sale (POS) system required.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • College degree in business or management preferred.



Computer Skills  
To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.    
 

Language Skills                                                
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
 

Mathematical Skills                                                     
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
 

Reasoning Ability      
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
