Job Summary


 General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting practices
  • Manage accounts receivables
  • Lead, train and manage Accounts Payable Coordinator and Finance Coordinator
  • Prepare accounting records, including financial statements, and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined within the department
  • Manage event post-race reconciliations, bank reconciliations, collections, adjusting journal entries, and general bookkeeping
  • Meet all monthly financial deadlines
  • Develop a  services agreement and management process
  • Identify opportunities, structure and implementation for finance to assume responsibility for cost centers, i.e. travel
  • Identify and elevate issues, risks and mitigations through effective analysis
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and digitization
  • Manage all revenue contracts, including sponsor contracts and payment schedules
  • Generate monthly reports for Staff Executives, the CEO, and the Board of Directors
  • Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting
  • Audit all accounting policies and practices, research and recommend improvements, and oversee implementation
  • Create, update and maintain finance policies and standard operating procedures
  • Assures adherence to financial policies and procedures

 
Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable Coordinator and Finance Coordinator will report to AccountantRequired Education and Experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting (Master’s degree preferred)
  • CPA certification (preferred)
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping procedures
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Microsoft Office: proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Preferred experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge, Expensify and Namely HRIS
