Community Relations Internship (Summer 2019)

Job Summary

Job Purpose: Assist the NHL Team Foundation with its mission - promote physical well-being, encourage teamwork, emphasize education and provide essential life skills to young people in the community through youth hockey and other activities.

Requirements: Intern must be entering their junior or senior in college and must take the internship for credit during the Summer 2019 semester. The internship is unpaid.

Key Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Demonstrate creativity in the management of social media sites
• Assist with the coordination of team and alumni special events
• Assist with coordination and implementation of game day promotions
• Take an active role in organizing and fulfilling charitable donation requests
• Participate in all charitable projects at Penguins home games (i.e. food collection, toy collection, special award presentations)
• Assist with the department’s daily communications and interactions with the public
• Create, edit, and proofread official documents and/or correspondences
• Assist in the collaboration and design of marketing and fundraising tools
• Assist in the development and maintenance of the Foundation’s website content

Expectations:
Knowledge of MS Office products, internet navigation and research capabilities
Demonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines and maintain a flexible schedule
