Job Summary
Key Responsibilities / Skill Requirements:
- Coordinate the administration of Learn, Play, Score programming for the NHL Team while maintaining accountability for its design, operation and evaluation.
- Emphasis on analytics, communications, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster collaboration and productive partnerships with a broad range of individuals, both within and outside the organization.
- Support participation in league, statewide and local meetings and activities.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communications with colleagues, hockey facility managers, children, parents, program alumni and the local community regarding Learn, Play, Score programming.
- Be a positive presence in the community among individuals and corporations through participation in both internal and external events.
Supplemental Job Functions:
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in the fields of Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Recreational Management, or Sports Management preferred
- Experience in sport program development and event planning
- Experience designing and managing youth camps, clinics and experiences
- Evidence of solid communication skills through verbal, written and telephonic channels
- Ability to demonstrate computer proficiency
- Basic knowledge of hockey
- Experience with Word mail merge, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations
- Ability to produce material under strict deadlines with a high attention to detail and confidentiality
- A valid driver’s license
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience working in hockey
- Experience in the college and/or professional sport industry
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to excel in a mastery-oriented environment
Working Conditions:
- Irregular and extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Exposure to moderate - high noise level
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Frequent visual/auditory attention
- Many events occur outdoors or in cold environments (e.g. baseball fields and ice rinks)
