Job Summary


The Head Women's Tennis Coach is responsible for all aspects of program operation/development including but not limited to: administration, coordination, and oversight of a competitive NCAA athletic program; included but not limited to practice and contest preparation and implementation, team management, scheduling, alumni and parent development, community service, fundraising and budget management, and mentoring of scholar-athletes.

Recruitment of qualified scholar-athletes is required; implementation of a sound recruiting strategy, collaboration with admissions, travel, communication, and evaluation of prospects. This position will include additional departmental responsibilities and/or teaching in the required physical education service program. Position responsibilities must be completed in accordance with Athletic Department, NCAA, and other related association rules and regulations.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with three to five years of experience in an assistant or head coach position. The successful candidate must demonstrate effective coaching methods and possess excellent leadership, role modeling, organizational and interpersonal skills, and must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of NCAA regulations.

The position requires the ability to provide academic guidance and mentoring to student-athletes; multi-task and handle a job with a daily change of pace; and the ability to use independent action, estimating skill, memory, and problem solving skills. General computer skills including Microsoft software (Word, Excel, etc) are required. Supervisory skills are preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable through the College. Must have or be willing to obtain any sport appropriate licensing, and CPR and First Aid certification.
