Job Summary

Job Summary: The Senior Associate Director of Athletics/Internal Operations is responsible to the Vice Chancellor of Athletics, Recreation, Special Programs and Projects for oversight and management of the day-to-day operations of the Athletics Program. The incumbent oversees the operation of 18 sports programs, including facilities, budget, travel, scheduling, recruiting, equipment, planning, staffing, bidding and the coordination of championships and other related areas; and directs our two major fundraising events. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Hiring and supervising staff and program expenses
  • Managing the budget for the Intercollegiate Athletic Program
  • Evaluating staff responsible for the marketing and promotion of athletic events and marketing materials;
  • Approving all marketing and promotional materials and allocating the budget 
  • Overseeing the preparation of press releases and the arrangement of media coverage for athletic events
  • Supervising the daily operations and staff of the facilities component of the Division
  • Monitoring student athlete equipment needs
  • Implementing contracts specific to the Intercollegiate Athletics Program
  • Developing the strategic plan for the Intercollegiate Athletic Program
  • Developing alumni and foster student engagement to support and encourage communication between departments
  • Creating policies and procedures relative to student-athletes access, health, and welfare
  • Prioritizing facility improvements to ensure the safety of student-athletes

Qualifications: 

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sports Administration and/or Management or a closely related field
  • Experience in hiring and managing staff
  • Familiarity with budget management 
  • Strong oral and written communications 
  • Knowledge of recruitment and admissions process

Preffered Qualifications: 

  • Completion of a Master’s Degree
  • Collegiate administrative or coaching experience
