Head Equipment Manager

Job Summary

Job Description:

The Head Equipment Manager is responsible for meeting the equipment needs of the varsity athletic programs. Reporting to the Associate Director of Athletics, Business Strategy and Operations, this position is responsible for ensuring that all student-athletes and coaches are outfitted in appropriate apparel, equipment, and footwear. 

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Oversee and manage the equipment operations of a Division I athletic program with 27 programs.
• Oversee the purchase, issuance, maintenance, inventory, collection and storage of practice and game equipment and apparel.
• Plan, manage, and forecast accurate equipment budgets for each varsity program with input from the respective head coaches.
• Oversee and direct the Assistant Equipment Manager to aid in the operations of the equipment room.
• Manage and execute daily laundry needs of all varsity programs.
• Fit student-athletes for equipment according to NOSCAE and manufacturer standards.
• Establish and maintain policies and procedures for the operation of the equipment room.
• Hire and manage work-study students to aid in the operation of the equipment function as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree Required
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in athletic equipment
• Experience with ice hockey at the Division 1 level required in the room
• AEMA Certification
• Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations
