Job Summary

 

Occasional duties:

The Assistant Director will be asked to lend expertise in other areas essential to the overall success of the Athletics Communications and Operations office. Some of these aspects may include:

  • Post-season scholar-athlete honors promotion.
  • Ability to recognize and promote individual features, volunteerism and other newsworthy activities by our scholar-athletes.
  • Arrange photography/video of scholar-athletes.
  • Using Adobe Premiere Pro or Adobe Audition to help create video/audio content.
  • Serve on campus and/or departmental committees.
  • Design and produce game day programs.
  • Assist with annual events like the Hall of Honor and Athletics Golf Tournament.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in communications, sports administration or a related field, as well as one to two (1-2) years of experience in a collegiate sports information office (internships and educational experience will be considered).

  • Proficiency in StatCrew/Automatic Scorebook statistical programs;
  • Proficient with InDesign desktop publishing, Photoshop and basic office software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • A working knowledge of Adobe Premiere or a similar video editing software for video content.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, while adhering to proper grammar and University editorial guidelines.

Bachelor's degree
