Job Summary

 

Essential Functions Under Student-Athlete Development:

  • Be a contributing member of the SA Dev Team; working collectively to create and implement programming that shapes and enhances our student-athlete experience.
  • Serve as a shared intern with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion
  • Assist in the administration of all Student-Athlete Development programming, including day-to-day
    mentorship, administration, emails, social media outlets and event logistics.
  • Attend recruiting functions and panels to promote SA Development services and engage young alumni outreach.
  •  Intentionally brand SA Dev by working with Communications, Strategic Communications, Development, Multimedia etc. to increase communication for staff and student-athletes, and enhance visibility on website, brochures, handbooks, manuals, videos, etc.
  • Serve as a liaison for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) and lead an identified subcommittee.
  • Is intentional about maintaining and developing departmental, campus and external partnerships to create a culture of belonging for everyone.
  • Take ownership of all community engagement events, activities and requests; including working jointly with the office of Civic and Community Engagement in the coordination of (5) iconic campus events; local charities seeking support, and spearheading our largest athletic led service event, Santa's Helper.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education, Experience and Training

  • Bachelor's degree required. Previous work in student-athlete development, as directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, are highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • General knowledge of NCAA academic eligibility rules and recruiting rules and procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of collegiate academic and athletic structure and processes.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe, all social media platforms.
  • Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse students, faculty and staff.
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Self-starter. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to follow directions and thoroughly complete tasks as assigned; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver license with good driving record; must be insurable.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends.
