Job Summary

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for all aspects of payroll processing. 

  • Process payroll tax withholdings and oversee the deposit of all payroll tax payments. 

  • Process both weekly and semi-monthly payrolls. 

  • Calculate and prepare month-end payroll accrual journal entries. 

  • Process international wage apportionment and taxes as necessary. 

  • Determine that all player signings, performance and other award bonuses are accurately taxed and allocated to states/cities as applicable. 

  • Ensure that all employee and player taxable fringe benefits are accurately paid, and taxed. 

  • Assist in payroll matters. Provide excellent customer service in responding to and resolving employee concerns regarding paychecks and other payroll-related matters in a timely manner. 

  • Correspond with Agents and CPA’s on behalf of their client’s financial planning. 

  • Assist on verification of employment upon request, cross-check the data entry of new hires, salary adjustments, deductions, and benefits, as directed. 

  • Assist with any payroll, benefits and workers compensation audits in a timely and efficient manner. 
  • Accurately and timely process out of state payroll calculation for visiting athletes and team personnel as determined by visited jurisdiction. 

  • Must stay current on all payroll laws and related requirements. 
 
Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience. 

  • Minimum of at least 5+ years of overall financial accounting experience. 

  • Payroll certification is a plus. 

  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication with leadership, supervision, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills required. 

  • Strong presentation skills required. 

  • Working knowledge of Great Plains and ADP a plus. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. 

  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of management required. 

  • Must be able to work flexible, non-traditional hours including nights, holidays and weekends.
