Job Summary

The Boston Celtics are seeking a Facilities Manager.

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations and CTO, the Facilities Manager will be responsible for the overall operation and maintenance for the new Celtics Practice Facility (scheduled to open in June, 2018).

Responsibilities:

  • Join the construction team during construction of the new Practice Facility and transition all key systems, equipment, and documentation from construction/development into full production.
  • Budget, schedule, document, and oversee service providers for ongoing maintenance of all key equipment and systems including, but not limited to, Cleaning, Basketball Courts, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Elevators, HydroTherapy, Float Tank, Strength and Conditioning, Medical, Food Service, AV, Laundry.
  • Interface with Celtics Basketball Operations and Celtics Administration to Oversee daily operations of the practice facility including scheduling of court and basketball facilities as well as media, hospitality/event, cleaning, and food service.
  • Responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable Government Regulations and Codes such as OSHA, Fire, Health, etc.
  • Maintain credentialing and access control system for both permanent employees, media, and guests.
  • Coordinate and schedule deliveries, access, etc with Food Service/Catering and other Event Services vendors for daily needs and special events/hospitality.
  • Interface with Building and Grounds Management Company and Landlord.
  • Other tasks as assigned as related to other Celtics facilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Building/Facilities Management, Sports Management, Engineering or related degree or the equivalent in experience. P.E. Certification a plus.
  • 3+ Years Relevant Facilities/Maintenance, Sports, Medical, or Event experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of building mechanical, electrical, and access-controls/security systems.
  • Professional manner, positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with all levels of employees and vendors.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to work long/flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
