Communications Intern – 2021 Spring Semester

Job Summary

• Learn and assist the Communications department with match day media relations responsibilities, including press box management, media credentialing, post-game recaps and quote sheets


• Develop written content, such as press releases, media advisories, game notes and articles


• Build relationships with the Club’s local, national, and international media members, while also assisting in developing media pitches and placements that enhance the reach and coverage of the City and Pride brands


• Monitor the Club’s media coverage, including the collection and composition of internal coverage reports


• Assist in gathering, organizing, and archiving statistical data for all three teams


• Other academic experiences, opportunities and projects as they become available

• Applicants should be working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis in journalism, public relations, or other communications-related fields


• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal


• Strong creative writing skills with knowledge of AP Style guidelines


• Knowledge of global soccer, Major League Soccer and the National Women’s Soccer League is preferred


• Maintain highest level of professionalism


• Self-starter with a high attention to detail and organization


• Possess an outgoing, engaging, and team focused personality


• Multiple positions available (game day and/or full-time)


• Spanish-speaking candidates a plus

• Duration of internship dependent on applicant ability to receive academic credit for this opportunity
