Job Summary

Overview

The Senior Graphic Designer will sit within  Creative Services. The Creative department is an in-house team – part of the Brand & Integrated Marketing Department – that services all internal constituents of the League, including Clubs and Soccer United Marketing. 

The Senior Graphic Designer is in charge of managing brand projects from ideation to completion, with a focus on concepts, iconography and execution. Candidate should have strong conceptual skills and understanding of layout, typography and color theory. Some projects are print-based and require knowledge of print design and production.

 Responsibilities

• Develop concepts around key brand and fan touchpoints (e.g. campaigns, big events).


• Design and refine various marketing materials requested by departments or internal stakeholders for both internal and external audiences, including signage, style guides, brochures, print ads, digital ads, social media graphics, creative toolkits, and presentations.


• Layout of a wide range of visual assets, from single-page ads to large environmental and directional signage.

• Manage, brief and art-direct freelancers.


• Build and maintain key graphic assets, including League and Club logos, event and platform marks, and curated selections of photos that highlight the league, current season and key moments.


• Provide support across Creative Services general workflow: design and production. 


• Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent.


• 5+ years of experience in print production and digital design.


• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).


• Experience in art-direction; create mood board or storyboards, define a style and brief other designers, provide comments on proofs, steer the execution of a design project.


• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint.

• Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Strong interpersonal skills: effective communicator, both written and verbally

• Knowledge and experience in design in sports (range of applications, technical requirements).


• Knowledge of the Spanish Language (business proficiency)


• Knowledge of the sport of soccer (North American)
