Head Swimming & Diving Coach

Job Summary

Job Description

• Coordinates all phases of men & women's swimming & diving program.
• Recruit for the swimming and diving team by developing a recruiting database by visiting high schools, clubs and meets.
• Build a sense of community and enthusiasm around the swimming & diving program by engaging the student body, alumni, parents and fans.
• Strong relational skills with internal and external constituents are critical.
• Coordinate all aspects of pool program.
• Manage pool staff and hours during the summer.
• Maintain aquatic facility by performing routine maintenance such as monitoring water chemicals, backwashing filters and maintaining clean and safe deck and pool area.
• Coordinate all major maintenance needs with physical plant and outside pool vendors.
• Participating in development and fundraising activities with various constituents and/or other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
• Serve as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This is a full-time
• 12-month position.

Qualifications

• Three years of previous coaching experience with a strong understanding of the DIII philosophy and its role at a private liberal arts institution.
• Certified Pool Operator license, lifeguard, LGI and/or WSI preferred.
• Maintaining a working relationship with campus colleagues, alumni, community members, and other constituents is key.
• Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, communicate effectively, have the ability to multi-task and operate within an extremely motivated, team oriented atmosphere.
• Must have the ability to work responsibly with minimal supervision.
• Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
• Requires a valid driver's license, good driving record, and must be insurable by the College's insurance carrier.
