Job Summary

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee activation and ensure contractual sponsorship elements (gameday and non-gameday assets) are fulfilled/executed properly for all AHL team partners

  • Attend all AHL team games to oversee gameday asset fulfillment and work with Team Photographer on capturing photos

  • Attend non-gameday/community AHL team events as needed to manage partner activation/involvement in those events

  • Create mid-season and end-of-season recaps for all AHL team partners

  • Take lead in developing and managing a strategic plan for all renewal accounts that are expiring

  • Prospect, pitch, and sell new AHL partnerships as needed

  • Conduct research to understand each company’s business and industry

  • Schedule meetings with prospective partners to learn their goals and objectives

  • Coordinate internal brainstorming meetings with other colleagues/departments to develop innovative assets and ideas that align with their goals and objectives 

  • Present compelling integrated marketing campaigns to prospects

  • Bring new and compelling ideas to current partners whenever possible (i.e., upsell opportunities)

  • Assist VP, Partnerships with research/brainstorming/deck creation for major AHL partnership pitches as needed 

  • Maintain excellent communication between the Partnerships department and other departments such as Community Relations, Ticketing, Game Entertainment, Legal, Communications & Content, Hockey Operations, etc. 

  • Manage Partnership interns, if applicable 



Key Competencies and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in sports: team, brand, or agency

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc)

  • Experience using graphic design software preferred (i.e., Photoshop)

  • Desire/willingness to learn 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a relentless work ethic 

  • Highly organized, with an ability to handle a high volume of detail-oriented partner agreements and projects 

  • Must have a flexible work schedule in order to work special event responsibilities throughout the year: weekends, nights and holidays as dictated by games/events

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced workplace 

  • Team player with a no-ego, ‘we’ not ‘me’ approach

  • High level of integrity, and ability to uphold the organization’s rules of conduct
