Job Summary


We Are…

Studio Directing is responsible for the on-air presentation of the show. We lead our crews to execute what the viewer sees and hears for broadcast.


Responsibilities :
A Day in the Life:

  • Oversees an assigned studio; ensures that the assigned Director has all materials and equipment needed to direct each assigned show; ensures that sets are in place and working; ensures that needed production positions are staffed and that approved schedules are met
  • Participates in pre-production activities
  • Coordinates with and ensures the availability of assigned talent / guests / commentators
  • Assists the assigned Director with studio floor management activities; controls the live or live-to-tape aspects of assigned productions
  • Identifies and reports problems with sets or production staff members to the appropriate organization unit; follows-up to ensure the resolution of identified studio operations problems
  • Operates under close and frequent supervision within the context of precisely defined directing standard operating procedures Conducts routine assignments with little anticipation of outcomes or problems
  • Work is checked regularly for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensures compliance of assigned tasks with established Studio Operations standards operating procedures
  • May make minor adjustments to sets and equipment



Basic Qualifications :

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Strong interest and desire in pursuing a career in Studio Directing
  • Communications, television production and/or electronic journalism background


Required Education :

  • Enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student in an accredited college/university in the semester prior to the internship


Additional Information :

Internship Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship. May 2020 graduates are still eligible.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization

Program Dates: The length of this internship is 10 weeks, and the approximate dates are June 8 – August 14, 2020. Interns will work 40 hours per week and must be fully available throughout the internship.

Housing: This position is based in Bristol, CT. A limited amount of housing assistance is available for those who qualify.

Transportation: Must provide own transportation to/from work.
