Job Summary:
  • The Manager of Audio, Video and Broadcast Operations takes the lead and specializes in modern broadcast operations.
  • The Manager of Audio, Video and Broadcast Operations will manage all aspects of professional video and audio engineering, signal distribution, imaging technologies, production philosophies, and control room workflows.
  • This scope also includes the management over the distribution of audio and video services, including installation, operation and maintenance of equipment associated with the head-end and signal transmission network.
 

Essential Functions: 

  • Manage, maintain, repair, and test all broadcast equipment and infrastructure throughout the Stadium including but not limited to fiber optic, SMPTE cable, triax, and other audio/video cabling, master control room servers, router, switcher, IPTV system, RF systems, broadcast level cameras and peripherals, televisions, and other A/V equipment.

  • Lead initiatives between broadcast engineering and operations, IPTV system, IT and various other department. Act as point of contact for all associated production systems: video/audio routing, signal processing, LED displays, cameras, switchers, audio mixers, replay system, intercom, lighting, edit systems, etc.

  • Oversee technical operation, maintenance and repair of video control room equipment.

  • Improve functionality and organization of the technical spaces including: video control rooms, rack rooms, and edit bays. 
  • Create and maintain wiring documentation and system configuration documentation.

  • Oversee service contracts and third-party integrations and maintenance. Evaluate current technology at the Stadium for life expectancy, repair and replacement.

  • Directly manage full-time and part-time audio/video/broadcast engineering team including hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, and delegating duties 

  • Work directly with VP, Information Technology and the Stadium Financial resources to assist with Financial Management initiatives via budgeting, accounting and charging as it pertains to the consumption of services.

  • Develop, implement and maintain best practices across audio, video, broadcast engineering technologies, infrastructure, and environments that are reflective of the group focus on Cyber Security, Governance and Compliance.

  • Establish and maintain a Continual Service Improvement culture through various Research and Development initiatives.

 
Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum education level of: BA/BS Degree (4-year) in Information Technology or related field 

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in a broadcast, video production, or stadium/arena environment. Additional experience may be substituted for education.

  • Must have experience with basic networking concepts for configuration, installation, and troubleshooting. 

  • Proficient skills related to installing and terminating various types of audio, video, and broadcast cables

  • Full understanding of: 

    • IP and baseband routing

    • Ross video broadcast equipment

    • EVS replay system

    • Cisco Vision IPTV

    • Broadcast cameras and peripherals 


  • Ability to manage staff effectively.  Proven ability to successfully plan, coordinate, and execute tactically and strategically

  • Excellent written and oral communication, client service, and project management skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic

  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and frequent change, delays or unexpected events

  • Proven ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information

  • Ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to learn required business systems 

  • Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external partners 

  • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamless with excellent attention to detail

  • Solid understanding of communications strategies necessary including emerging technologies and social/non-traditional media

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
