Job Summary
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the on-boarding activities with new academy players.
- Support the delivery of the holistic development of student athlete through the following:
- ‘Ethical Intelligence’ (EQ1) coordinate the delivery of ProPerformance, Core Values, and Gallup Strength Inventory with athletes and incorporate into player engagements.
- ‘Emotional Intelligence’ (EQ2) assist athletes with personal and social competencies.
- ‘Learning Power’- conduct learning style inventory and analyze to report relevant data.
- ‘Education and Academic Performance’ monitor athlete academic performance.
- ‘Psych/Social Skills Program’- analyze TAP data to support player development.
- Engage in team, small groups or individual player and coaches’ meetings to support PASS activities.
- Deliver parent education and coach education workshops.
Assist in conducting Individual Tutorials to ALL and SOME athletes with an emphasis on Psych/Social Skills Program:
- Monitor, evaluate, and educate players on frequent basis on mental performance and game evaluation.
- Provide support and counseling for athletes.
- Prescribe techniques to help players overcome challenges.
- Help players and coaches process information ranging from everyday life to futbol.
- Deliver Club Teamship modules to athletes.
- Deliver Character Development modules to athletes.
- Deliver club Core Values education to athletes and incorporate Core Values in interactions with athletes and staff.
Other Specific Responsibilities:
- Assist with operational tasks.
- Deliver Mental Skills workshops during away game trips.
- Contribute to developing an athlete’s ‘Individual Player Development’ plan (player passports).
- Engage with ALL, SOME, and FEW parents about content being delivered throughout year.
- This may include parent meet & greet sessions, e-Letter, etc.
- Coordinate PASS content with coach to ensure what is learned in the classroom is displayed on the field.
- Participate and conduct small sided project for the Academy- generally a project related to your preferred area of study.
- Attend weekly Staff meetings .
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university, required.
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s psychology program with emphasis on Mental Performance, preferred.
- Previous futbol club experience an advantage.
- Ability to work independently on projects and work efficiently and effectively in group settings.
- Proficient using Microsoft.
- Ability and willingness to work weeknights and weekends.
- Must have reliable means of transport to commute to and from SeatGeek Stadium and other youth club locations.
