Job Summary
Maintain strength and weight/cardiovascular rooms to provide a safe and clean environment for member workouts. Assist members with equipment, communicate and enforce EBC safety policies and procedures. Answer member questions and inquiries.
Oversee the concierge desk, assist members in checking items out as needed.
Aid Director of Fitness with programs and other departmental needs, evaluate members and properly understand use of assessment tools (Bodpod, Activtrax, Inbody, TRX Maps, Higi Blood Pressure Machine).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greet all members with hello or eye contact.
- Basic knowledge on cardiovascular, selectorized and free weight equipment
- Wipe glass doors and mirrors—free of smudges and handprints
- Determine and respond to member needs and inquiries.
- Enforce policies and promote safety within the fitness areas
- Perform assigned cleaning responsibilities and maintain sanitation of the fitness areas and its equipment
- Ensure all weights and accessories are racked after use and educate members on this proper protocol
- Be attentive and report equipment issues to PBX/operator
- Serve as a spotter for members
- Provide and uphold excellent customer service
- Instruct users on the proper use of equipment
- Offer tips on stretching (do not stretch a member).
- Make sure all sanitizers are all full.
- Maintain assigned area by ensuring that it is free of discarded newspapers, towels and other debris.
- Communicate/enforce Club policy. Report all problem users to manager.
- Check whentowork.com daily for updates on schedule; ensure time off is requested.
- Punch in and out daily using the Paycom app
- Exhibit leadership and sensitivity when dealing with members and co-workers.
- Sweep 3rd and 4th floor areas along the track including rooms off the track.
- Make sure all toys and small exercise equipment is stocked and maintained.
- Conduct Activtrax evaluation appointments, update daily member Activtrax forms
- Calibrate Bodpod daily, responsible for Bodpod testing and record on laptop properly
- Conduct Inbody assessment, TRX Maps assessment and assist with Higi blood pressure assessment
- Help check-out/check-in locked equipment to members.
- Give out towels to members who might need them

QUALIFICATIONS / STANDARDS
- Maintain current certification in adult CPR and AED.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work productively unsupervised.
- Personable, organized, self-motivated and team oriented
- Willingness to work early mornings, evenings and weekends
- Represent East Bank Club in a professional manner through appearance, attitude, and cooperation with members and co-workers.
- Ability to deal with member complaints
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend over, squat, reach, lift and carry substantial weight (50lbs.).
- Speaks English.
