Job Summary
Bally Sports Southwest is looking for a Social Media Game Day Producer to join their team on a part-time basis in the New Orleans area. As the Social Media Game Day Producer your responsibilities will include working closely with existing staff and posting content to various social media platforms (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube) during the New Orleans Pelicans basketball season. This is a freelance, seasonal position offering between 20-30 hours per week with a start date on/around October 1, 2021 and approximate end date around June 30, 2022.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Live clipping and posting of New Orleans Pelicans broadcasts on Bally Sports Southwest
• Gathering content from in arena during home events
• Create non game day content (graphics and video) surrounding the New Orleans Pelicans
• Assist in providing daily and in-game social media content to boost overall coverage (including linear TV shows and events)
• Research and understand the Pelicans history to create relevant social content, including old interviews, birthdays, anniversaries, and classic games
• Monitor social media for news from and about New Orleans Pelicans players and coaches
• Promote brand and team initiatives as needed
• Assist in clipping and posting ancillary content and shoulder programming as assigned
YOU WILL NEED
• Production, Communications, Journalism, Marketing undergraduate track required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in social media, production, communications, or marketing
• Must be able to work flexible hours, which will primarily include nights and weekends
• Strong level of professionalism and understanding of working media guidelines
• Self-starter who can work independently
• Deep understanding and love of the New Orleans Pelicans
• Familiarity with Bally Sports Southwest’s programming, talent, and brand initiatives
• Detailed knowledge and experience on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
• A strong handle of grammar, punctuation, syntax, and a Twitter voice
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen editorial sense
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to be detailed-oriented and a proactive and a team player
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on deadline
• Always connected and tuned into the latest New Orleans Pelicans news
• Photoshop knowledge is a MUST
• Basic understanding and familiarity with Premier
• Photography and Motion Graphics experience is a plus
• Passion for social media and evolution of technology
