Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in the academic, personal, and athletic development of student-athletes
• Direct and coordinate all activities of the football staff in the planning, organizing, and coaching of the football program
• Ensure compliance with university, conference, and NCAA procedures and regulations of all football coaching staff.
• Assume full responsibility for ensuring team performance is competitive in the affiliated conference with the goal of achieving post-season competition annually
• Maintain collaborative working relationships with administrators and coaches in the department, other university offices, and appropriate relationships with members of the media, donors, and other individuals interested in the team
• Hire, supervise, and direct all assistant football coaches (full-time, part-time, and/or volunteer) in proper function and assignments
• Promote and foster a positive team environment, appropriate behavior, and sportsmanship by team members, assistant coaches and staff. Responsible for the conduct of team members and coaches both on and off the field.
• Determine fiscal requirements and recommend budget to athletic administration.  Monitor, verify, and reconcile expenditures of budgeted funds.
• Purchase and maintain equipment; inspect practice facilities and equipment regularly
• Serve as preliminary contact for scheduling of all football games. Coordinate schedule through proper channels in the Athletic department.
