Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

To serve as an assistant to and be directly responsible to the Assistant Athletic Director/Director of Sports Medicine in performing direct supervision of student athletes and athletic training students on the university campus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain an effective working relationship with all team physicians, ensuring student-athlete compliance with team physician's treatment and rehabilitation guidelines.
• Maintain required Continuing Education Unit (CEU) guidelines to endure Board of Certification
• (BOC) and Michigan state licensure requirements.
• Maintain appropriate communication with student-athletes and parents/guardians. 
• Assist the Assistant Athletic Director/Director of Sports Medicine with special events.
• Competency in appropriate injury tracking software.
• Travel with sport specific assigned programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Head Athletic Trainer.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor degree in a health related field is required.
• National Athletic Trainers' Association Board Certification required.
• One year of experience in athletic training field.

RELATED QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an accredited or NATA approved curriculum is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience and ability to positively interact with diverse student populations and groups.
