ROLE of the POSITION

The position of Asst. Coach, Men's Golf exists to aid the Head Coach, Men's Golf in the operation of the golf program.  The Assistant Coach's position should help the Golf Program reach its goals, which include graduating its student/athletes, representing the UNLV in a positive manner, and competing and winning at the highest level of collegiate golf. 

This position should have a basic knowledge of NCAA rules as it pertains to assigned job duties and the scope of employment.  In addition, this position will be responsible for obtaining proper guidance or approval from Athletics Compliance, prior to participating is select activities as defined by NCA bylaws or institutional policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a preference for previous player experience at either the junior or college level.  In addition, candidates should possess the following:

• Leadership Experience
• First-hand Recruiting Experience
• Understanding of business and communications involved with running a golf program
• Understanding of TrackMan technology
• Understanding of drills to improve team skills
• Understanding of collegiate campus culture
• Computer Program Skills such as electronic mail, word processing, etc
• Golf course management skills
• Ability to recruit players of all levels - locally, regionally, nationally, world-wide
• Ability to develop strong Las Vegas Community relations skills to develop and foster university, community and student relations
• Fundraising experience and ability
• Connections with outstanding teachers of the game
• Knowledge of all applicable NCAA rules and regulations

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions.  Position is contingent upon funding.
