Job Summary
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Skill Development:
- Demonstrate a wide variety of ability and knowledge for golf instruction, course management, practice drills, and other areas as determined by the Head Coach to help the development of the team, and individual players.
Recruiting:
- Ascertain a qualified pool of prospective student-athletes and assess the individual talent, and character, of each prospect.
- Communicate well with prospects, their parents, or legal guardians and often, their teaching professional by telephone and in-person contact.
- Be creative in written communication with prospective student-athletes.
- Assist with coordinating the Official Campus Visits made by prospects and their parents or legal guardians.
Team management and team coaching:
- Coordinate, manage, and conduct daily golf practices in conjunction with the HC or individually.
- Communicate information and expectations of the coaches clearly to student-athletes.
- Travel with the team to competitions and assist the Head Coach at competition sites in working with team members and improve their results at the tournament site.
Promotion and administration:
- Assist the Head Coach in the selection and inventory of golf equipment/supplies/clothing/apparel orders for the team and the coaching staff. Complete required recruiting, travel, and miscellaneous paperwork in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Participate in activities that assist in the promotion of the Athletic Department and Men's Golf program. Commitment every day to the success of the program, individuals, and philosophy of the Head Coach.
Compliance:
- Follow all the rules and regulations of the NCAA fully and adhere to all University, Pac-12 Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

What We Require
- Bachelor's Degree required. Amateur, intercollegiate, or professional tournament golf experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
- Must have certification as a Class 'A' PGA or LPGA Teaching Professional OR one of the following:
- At least two years of experience as an intercollegiate student-athletes in the sport of golf at a Division I institution; or
- One year of experience as an intercollegiate golf coach at Division I, or
- Two years of experience as a head or assistant coach at NJCAA, NAIA, or NCAA Division II, or NCAA Division III, or
- Three years as a head coach at the high school level.
What You Will Need
- Excellent verbal, written, organizational, management, and administrative skills.
- Ability to teach golf technique, methods, and practices
- Ability to work optimally with student-athletes, faculty, alumni, administrative, and athletic department staff.
What We Would Like You To Have
- Previous coaching/recruiting experience at the Division I level.
- Proven success as a golf player and/or coach.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules or regulations.
