Job Summary
Job Responsibilites include:
- Recruiting and maintaining a team of at least 12 cheerleaders
- Scheduling and coaching practices and appearances
- Coaching game day performances at home basketball games
- Preparing team to compete at NCA College Nationals by building stunt, tumbling, jump, and dance skills
- Monitoring student-athlete development, skill progression, and safety
- Establishing and enforcing team standards of conduct
- Assisting with fundraising efforts
- Growing and fostering a comprehensive program, this includes internal and external relationship building with student-athletes, alumni, and other contributors and/or collaborators with the program
Required Education and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree is required
- Must have at least one year of collegiate or all-star cheerleading coaching experience (assistant or head coach), with preference given to candidates with three or more years of experience
- Must be AACCA certified or willing to complete AACCA certification training
- Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Demonstrated talent in building cohesive teams
- Strong decision making and conflict resolution skills
- Applicant must be available on nights and weekends - including each home basketball game, possible tournament play (Patriot League, NCAA, etc.), and NCA College Nationals (Annually, early to mid-April)
