Job Summary

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks:


This position develops and coordinates all strategies and activities related to marketing and promotions for the institution’s athletic department. This is a vital engagement position to increase attendance, fan excitement, community support, and student experience. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics (or his/her designee), keeping him/her abreast of all planning, organizing and development of the Athletic Department’s marketing and promotional efforts.  
The right candidate may also serve as S.W.A.

 

Qualifications:

Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform duties and responsibilities described above:


1. Have experience in Intercollegiate Athletics to understand the areas of game management, scheduling and planning.
2. Possess computer skills for word processing, data bases and spreadsheets.
3. Experience in graphic design and video development.
4. Demonstrated abilities to supervise and manage staff.
5. Have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills.
6. Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Periscope, etc. and their uses as it applies to intercollegiate athletics.


Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Sports Management or related field, preferred. Bachelor’s Degree required.

 
Special Notation:

  1. Staff members have a duty to cooperate with and furnish the NCAA, the conference or institution with truthful and complete information concerning involvement in or knowledge of rules violations.
  2. A coach or staff member may be suspended or terminated if found to be involved in deliberate and/or serious violations of NCAA regulations
  3. Rules education, satisfactory rules knowledge and documenting compliance activities are mandatory and athletics personnel will be evaluated on their performance
