Assistant Rodeo Coach

Job Summary

Job Summary:

Serves in a leadership role for SWOSU's Rodeo program. The Assistant Coach will support the policies, guidelines, and rules of the NCAA, the Conference, and the University. 

Description of Job Duties:

• Responsible for assisting with the coaching of the rodeo team in a professional and efficient manner
• Coordinate recruiting and retention of student athletes to SWOSU's rodeo program
• Ensure all equipment and facilities are appropriately used
• Responsible for the management and care of practice livestock
• Supervise student employees, including performance and mentoring and being a positive role model of student athletes and student assistants
• Monitor academic progress of student athletes
• Assist in fundraising efforts for Rodeo Team and Athletic Department
• Promote and adhere to NIRArules and regulations
• With the Head Coach and Athletic Director, oversees a competitive rodeo program and worthwhile training and educational experience for all participants
• Work cooperatively with the Athletic Director in matters pertaining to the Rodeo program
• Assist in repairing, maintaining and improving the condition of the rodeo facilities and equipment
• Notify Director or Human Resources of any potentially dangerous equipment, practices, or violations of safety procedures
