Job Summary

Coordinates the evaluation and certification of eligibility for new, continuing, transfer, and international student athletes for participation in the intercollegiate athletic competition each semester (approximately 450 student athletes).

This includes: determining if NCAA standards have been met regarding—percentage of degree requirements, academic standing, full-time enrollment, adequate GPA, appropriate hours passed per semester/academic year, major declaration, etc; reviewing all transcripts from prior schools for transfer students, including international transfer students; processing degree audits for each student; and providing necessary documentation for other university officials review.

Related responsibilities include: assisting Athletics Compliance Office in issuance of transfer releases, coordinating the unofficial evaluation process of potential transfer student-athletes; running and reviewing reports daily to certify that students-athletes remain enrolled in the required number of hours, etc. required to comply with NCAA and American Athletic Conference (AAC) certification rules and regulations; maintaining accurate NCAA certification records and files on each student athlete; working with Athletics Compliance Office to assist with interpretation of NCAA eligibility rules; assisting with rules education relative to eligibility on campus when necessary; maintaining the production calendar to ensure timely reporting throughout the year.
